Lifeline Canberra's Lock Up Your Boss

Attention: open in a new window. Print

Registrations are now open for Lifeline Canberra’s Lock Up Your Boss initiative, with a number of bosses around Canberra already behind bars in their virtual prison! In order to escape, bosses must raise enough money to make bail before they are sentenced on 7 June 2019, with all money raised going towards Lifeline Canberra’s invaluable crisis support and suicide prevention services.

SERVICE ONE has proudly supported the ‘Lock up your Boss’ initiative for a number of years now. As a social enterprise, we operate for the sole purpose of enhancing the lives of our Members and the broader community. We aim to Do Good and that’s why we are so passionate about supporting Lifeline Canberra so they can continue to provide this life saving service.

While various bosses are already locked up (including SERVICE ONE's own Chief Executive Matthew Smith), there’s always room for more in the virtual prison! So we are putting the call out to bosses (and staff who want to lock up their bosses) to get involved! All you have to do is register yourself (if you’re a boss) or dob in your boss (for staff who want to see their boss locked up) by visiting Lifeline Canberra’s website.

Why is supporting Lifeline Canberra so important to us?
  • In Canberra, we lose one person to suicide every week.
  • Lifeline Canberra provides invaluable crisis support and suicide prevention services to our community.
  • Suicide is the leading cause of preventable death in Australia.
  • Suicide rates are at a 10 year high.
  • A potentially life-saving call costs $26.00 and Lifeline relies largely on fundraising events and activities to provide this service.
