Assistance Beyond Crisis

The Assistance Beyond Crisis (ABC) microfinance program offers interest free loans for people who have experienced and left a domestic or family violence situation and who live and work in the ACT or surrounding NSW region.

The loans provide immediate financial assistance where no other options are available, and can include finance for:

  • household goods
  • vehicle related costs
  • childcare fees
  • rental bonds
  • education expenses, and
  • electrical/electronic items.

The ABC program is managed by Care Inc. with support from SERVICE ONE.

  Eligibility

To be eligible for a loan under the ABC program, you must:

  • have experienced and left a domestic violence situation
  • live and work in the ACT or surrounding NSW region, and
  • have a moderate income (approximately $50k - $100k per annum).
  How much you can borrow

To be eligible for a loan under the ABC program, you must:

  • Up to a maximum of $5k depending on your income and repayment capacity.
  • Maximum loan term of 3 years applies.
  How to apply
A referral form must be completed and submitted prior to making an appointment. These are available from:
  • Community Service Agencies who work with DV clients
  • EAP providers, and
  • allied health services or medical professionals.

Donations to support the program are tax-deductible and governance processes have been set up by a Steering Committee including CARE, SERVICE ONE and Deloitte to ensure the financial integrity and sustainability of the facility. Make a donation.
